Deep gratitude mixed with bemusement fuel my little boat around this earth experience and I find it all to be an immense kick. Even the hard stuff and heartbreaks can be juicy and experienced fully.

We live on a planet with clear rivers and It’s Its and Prince and grasshoppers and burlesque and gorillas and ukuleles and epic desert gatherings: It’s pretty fun.

I am happy when:
I am driving with windows down and music blasting, I am heading for a hot springs, I am looking at a map with a highlighter in hand, I am camping under the stars, I am entering an odd musical venue, I am with good friends, I create an amazing experience for someone, I go to bed early with someone I love to go to bed early with, I find some new coffee shop or bookstore, I experience silence, I am clothes-free in the water, I am under an old tree, I am surprised by someone, I surprise, delight or crack someone up, I hear an eight-count lindy song, I am swimming, hiking, dancing, doing tai chi or yoga, I am listening to a child, I am doing something I am a bit scared of.

I have a hard time resisting a person who:
reads, makes music, has a dog or kid or something they take care of (a plant?), can mix gentle listening with good natured ribbing, takes care of their body, has a nice side and a naughty side, laughs easy, listens deeply, sees the ridiculous, sees me, finds religion in themselves and the world around them, can get dirty, can balance life between big nights out and big nights in, is not into virtual world too much and is into whatever they are into with everything.

I am hoping for:
By compassion or passion, our hands and eyes are not too far from each other. We are best friends, we get it, we stick around when it is easy and move even closer when it is not easy. We have a blast waiting in line at the DMV.

We are quiet together. We dare each other. We double dog dare each other. We water each other’s gardens. We turn each other on. We are each others homes.
