I wanna burn! Total virgin, I've been trying to make it to burning man since 2010, but lack of funds and no vehicle has gotten in my way each time. My dream would be to acquire or work exchange or be gifted a ticket so that I can go. Some people get really pissy whenever somebody asks to be gifted a ticket that the owner wants to give away. I have come across some burners that have been mean and nasty to me for even asking if there are any tickets that someone wouldn't mind gifting. Those type of people define how I feel about so called "Enlightened" "new age" wanna-be-hippie types. They are all about appearances, but on the inside, they are lying to themselves and everyone else. There was a time when I believe burning man was a utopian dream, but, with each day and bad experience, I find myself quickly changing my mind about burners and burning man. I know what it will REALLY take to change the world, getting naked in the desert, taking man made drugs, and comparing one's body with other men or women only breeds further superficiality and insecurity of the whole idea of burning man. I'd like to change my mind, but people are so programmed, that I have already made it up in my mind what burning man is all about.
It would be nice to find some people that could change my mind about all of this, but I somehow seriously doubt it.
